Situated on Sydney's Eastern beaches, this was the first hotel in the area, built by an Irish convict who saw freedom in 1833 and set about borrowing 600 pound to establish the pub. It quickly became the council meeting place and community hub of the time.

These days the 'Charo' maintains its community vibe but focusses on good food and drink with a few frills like daily specials, state of the art gaming room, TAB, beer garden and functions.
