Lustre Bar is a delightfully plush cocktail bar that we reckon most would fall in love with on first sight. Put simply, if words such as lavish and intimate describe you, then we've found your bar.

One we'd recommend for the ladies, and pretty good function material, Lustre Bar is enjoyed by all ages. A DJ spins cocktail tunes on the weekends, and the vibe is still casual enough to make everyone feel at home, too, so no fear - it's Flinders Lane, not South Yarra.

The best bit we'll save for last - Lustre Bar is an upstairs venue and has a great balcony overlooking Flinders Lane. It's only on the first floor, you see, which means a superb view of city life going by.

Oozing with charm and opulence, this delightful venue boasts a small dance floor and lots of pink and gold. The crowd is classy corporate on Fridays and otherwise, just plain classy. Lustre Bar is not at all pretentious though, and invites you to hit the small dance floor and boogie the night away.

Our tip: A champagne on the narrow balcony overlooking Flinders Lane is an experience worth savouring. Fresh air, views, ambience - it's all here outside the bifold doors.

My best friend and I (Jackie) had our 30th birthday at Lustre Lounge last Thursday night. We had a great time. It was a hot day so the balcany was a hit. The place rocks! Highly recommend for a function. Thanks to Gloria and Michael for making our night run so smoothly.
