Pigs might fly? Well, we haven't seen any yet but we did spot some pink elephants on the roof of this fantastic pub located in the back streets of Windsor. With a beer garden and thoroughly impressive untouched decor, this pub is the kind of place that will keep you regularly coming back.

There's a main bar, a cosy dining room with well priced, high quality food, and an aura of clientele who are vibrant but still down to earth.

Many in Melbourne have this place on their priority pub list. If you want to have a solo drink or want to catch up with your friends in a drinking establishment that is unaffected, the Windsor Castle is what you need.

Outdoor Area / Beer Garden

Friday nights are packed in the beer garden with an eclectic mix of drinkers. Decor is rainbow fantasia meets the tropics, from the hurricane lanterns to the straw umbrellas and palm trees. Tunes are abundant and drinks are served underneath the bar's thatched roof.

From its time as a cool blues venue to its current existence as funky pub and restaurant, this hard-to-find drinkery is always popular. The Windsor has taken the retro trend a step further - to the menu. Dishes like deep fried camembert and fondue which went out of vogue decades ago are back in vogue here.
