Largeish back street boozer with massive bar, an expanse of tables and a small stage for the odd musical act. Things are fairly dim and as it's a refurbished modern pub there's a proper dining menu, a large selection of local and imported beers, and a help-yourself takeaway fridge should the party continue elsewhere. Years ago partially-clothed women used to serve beers to tradies, but consider that consigned to the dustbin of history. It's always good when the wrecking ball doesn't come and instead a bit of love and care is given to a place.

Worth walking an extra five minutes past Sydney Road for this pub. The beer was cheap, the food was AMAZING. Apparently they get big bands and actors dropping in there all the time.

This brilliant little pub is perfect for a catch up with friends. As a resident of the area it has fast become my favorite place for a few drinks and great selection of beers.

Inside you'll find a low lit, comfortable space with plenty of room to sit coupled with a good sized beer garden. It is fast becoming a hit with the young locals flocking to the Brunswick area (west of Sydney Rd).

The Union hotel has been re-opened and boy has it changed. Gone are the bikies, and in is good food, some live music and a boutique beer garden. Situated in a little corner of Brunswick which has been revitalised by a real estate development over the road the union hotel is good as a friendly local, a summer's evening, or a good feed.

The guys who own the Standard in Fitzroy have done an amazing job and it's fantastic to have a great quality pub that's promoting local beer (Mountain Goat.....ummmmmmm!!!) in Brunswick.
