Where do you go if you're an Elwood local and want to impress your friends? You go to Blue Tongue. Located on a quiet, tree lined and neighbourly bayside street, this is the perfect place to come for a meal and a drink, or just a drink. The decor is minimalist with basic wooden chairs and tables, bench seats, polished floorboards and an attractive bar to sit at and sample some fine wines. The food is excellent and covers a wide range of variety foods and flavours.

There are many seats outside which are favoured in the summer by those of us who still enjoy a cigarette.

Is it a Bar? Is it a Cafe? Is it a Restaurant? Who cares it's great.

That's pretty much the discussion i have with my friends whenever we sit down for a few beers at the Bluetongue. With waiters wearing aprons and Elwood locals sitting around with their laptops and newspapers it could easily be a cafe or restaurant. But then when the weather is nice the outdoor area fills up and the beer flows.

It's got a really good locals vibe, with a lot of familiar faces every time you head in.

You could head down here for a couple of pots in the sunshine, or come back that night and sit down for a great meal. A great, versatile venue.
