Named after an Anzac badge, the Rising Sun Hotel sports clean, modern decor and smartly dressed staff. Something's on here most nights, whether it be meal discounts ('locals night'), live entertainment or the Friday raffle. Dining here is a star feature, with a white linen dining room off to one side, a large waitered area in the middle, and pub fare at the front bar. A pavement area is enjoyable in the summer. Sports memorabilia photos decorate the wall, with the crowd being the more respectable type locals.

After a recent full internal refurbishment, the "Riser" is a classic South Melbourne pub with something different to offer on each day of the week. Whether it is a massive $6 meal on Monday nights or the 17pc Big Band on a Tuesday, this cosy pub covers all groups.

The weekly lunches are the real winner at the Rising Sun and this attracts all the local "suit workers" as well as offering the bar meals. A great place for a beer after work, and on a Friday the free raffle, nibbles and live entertainment make it even more inviting.

A very warm and welcoming atmosphere awaits all patrons along with the friendly staff. Do yourself a favour and experience the Rising Sun.
