Venue type: Pub, Club

Large, open pub set in the former Bourke Street West Police Station. An atrium style glass roof contrasts well with the bluestone walls. The Royal Melbourne Hotel's main room has one large bar and a mixed crowd intent on being at a pub-styled venue where beer freely flows from the tap. A front pool room is set in a more traditional, beige look, and the former station's cells area provides even more nooks to disappear into. On the weekends, musical entertainment is offered such as acoustic acts or the full DJ experience.
RMH is a popular venue in its own right, and does well to attract even more crowds when sporting events are on.
Outdoor Area / Beer Garden
The Royal Melbourne Hotel has a great little outside courtyard area.

Second Opinion
This behemoth of a venue was once a police station, presumably not with the soaring glass ceilings which feature now. The smaller nooks and crannies (perhaps once cells) around the huge inner space make for an interesting and fun experience.
