A personal, friendly backpackers run with a view that everyone staying here is part of the family. Hosted by Bev and Micks who also run the Victoria Hotel in North Melbourne, McMahons. McMahon's set-up includes a couple of pool tables, pinball machine and an internet area.

There's accommodation available, and many of the backpackers will be socialising in the bar area. Being such a friendly place, it won't be long before someone says hello.

Our tip: for something different, have a bite to eat at the taxi diner a few doors down on Spencer Street towards the city.

Outdoor Area / Beer Garden

The remnants of the old Moomba Hotel's drive-thru have been turned into a beer garden complete with BBQ.
