Partystar Review
Cosy back street pub that is pure Fitzroy - second hand furniture, dim lighting and 1001 quirky objects around the room. Eclectic, and the friendly vibe that goes with it.
Descend into the cellar for a pool room that's barely bigger than the table itself, and head upstairs for the dedicated dining area.
Popular during the day, too.
Outdoor Area / Beer Garden
There are rooftop tables for some fun (and drinking) in the sun.
Live Music Venue
A host of stuff going down at the Marquis of Lorne means that there's something on the agenda most nights, with bands through to DJ on the weekends. The vibe isn't extreme though, and the mix is quite chilled.

Second Opinion
If the Marquis' four fab floors aren't enough to entertain you, we don't know what will. Sampling the fine selection of beers on tap in the mid century styled front bar should keep you there for a while and after that, try the cellar for a game of pool or tuck into a meal in the rustic dining room. The third floor is available for functions.

Readers' Reviews
This is a really friendly local preserving what is left of laid back Fitzroy cool. Where larger Brunswick St pubs have turned to the tourists for custom, the Marquis is all about local residents. Really great country/folk bands play Sundays (Black eyed susans and wagons have played previously) and guest DJs (mostly from local bands) play Mondays to Saturdays. Good pub food (steaks, pie, shanks etc) good pub prices, great open fireplaces for chess etc, great relaxed vibe. Couldn't ask for more from a pub.
