1993 was arguably when Melbourne's laneway bar culture was born, and Meyers Place was the first child. It has since moved 150 metres away from its original location and even though it is no longer in the street it was named after, the vibe hasn't changed much. Nor have the Melbourne Bitter longnecks, a Meyers' institution. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Most of the action is at street level where the huge concrete bar is (salvaged from the prior location) but there is also a sparse but functional basement space for customer overflow.
