Taking over from the iconic Great Britain, Harlow had big shoes to fill. It has done well, with the mantra "Good Vibes Only". Also good food, as Harlow has a philosophy of pimping the classics. There are weekly specials and also specials and sport events on the big screens.

Few are the pubs in Melbourne that haven't been overloaded with betting machines and posers, but the GB is one - great for a tasty Italian style pizza and pretty good Guinness.

The Great Britain has only come to my attention recently, but it has been a long time favourite of some new friends of mine. I went along on a Thursday night a few weeks ago to see what they were addicted to with my own eyes ... 'Extreme Karaoki'! Definitely a lot of fun and very popular. In 'the cave' downstairs, there is a relaxed feel, if pretty packed in, and a lot of friendly mingling going on while a steady stream of one night only pop stars do their thing. But wait, it's not only the one nighters, there are regulars who dress in costume and practice the words and dance steps to their songs as well, who make for a very entertaining night. The Great Britain may be an acquired taste, but is still worth a look.
