By far the biggest pub in the city, totally taking us by surprise as we discovered it just seemed to go on, and on, and .. then it turned into a club! Don't believe us? The Metro fits about 1800 people, the Exchange Hotel 1400. And it heaves on a Friday night.

First impressions on a Friday are probably of a queue at the door. The next impression will undoubtedly be of a mass of people everywhere, pot glasses in hand, loud music, and everyone having an absolutely great time.

Saturdays are a dedicated Rugby evening during the season, with telecasts shown on the big screen.

You simply haven't done the CBD until you've had a Friday at the Exchange.

Not only the club dance floor out the back - you'll even have bands playing up the front. DJed music tends to be commercial.
