Cruisy little bar with good lighting and tidy setup. Hats & Tatts is split over a downstairs level complete with fireplace while an upstairs rooftop bar complete with swinging chairs and wooden roofing makes for a beach party feel. A DJ downstairs livens things up on the weekends. Security can be clipboardish on busy nights, so consider phoning ahead if you're doing the group thing.

No obvious signage - look for the red birdcage swinging above a door opposite QV. The bar upstairs has hummingbird-patterned wallpaper, low couches, friendly staff and a fireplace which will be great once winter kicks in. But while summer still lasts, head up another flight of stairs to their awesome rooftop deck - cool city views, beer on tap and a pair of groovy swinging chairs.
