The location and old world charm of this 150 year-old venue lend themselves well to corporate types who peruse the newspapers available here, or have some after-work drinks to bitch about the boss.

Classic details like wood panelling, flocked wallpaper, ceiling roses, stained glass windows and a bookcase stacked with old tomes and vintage suitcases give aesthetic appeal, as do the gleaming bar taps where beer is poured by the mug - a nice touch.

There are quiet corners, tall stools and a big screen, and upstairs is a dining room service good nosh.
