A busy, small and late-opening band pub that's not to be missed if you like a proper Fitzroy pub. With the Old Bar looking pretty small from the outside, squeeze your way inside and you'll find it opens up somewhat. It's fairly much standing room only in the front bar room, a place where you'll bump into all sorts of characters. Loads of little knick-knacks decorate the bar area, as if every bit of space has been utilised.

An absolute surprise greets the retro gamers: several ancient, but well maintained games are out the back, together with pool tables. It's a very rare sight in Melbourne, and gives the Old Bar that extra ambience.

It's a drinker's pub at the end of the day, and the emphasis is on beer and good fun. If this is your calling then include this on your next Fitzroy visit. And since it's a small venue, it doesn't take many bodies to make it feel busy.

Live Music Venue

Popular live bands feature 7 nights on a dedicated stage. If you turn up during peak times on busy nights there's the possibility of needing to pay a cover charge at the door.
