Came across this lovely pub just off the main street. Friday night, husband kept happy with huge "parma" at great price and footy on the plasma TV.
I was kept happy with a lovely meal, great acoustic live music, not too crowded but still great atmosphere and a handsame guy behind the bar.
We will be back...

It still has the feel of a pub. Not yuppified.
Very happy. Will be a once a week trip to the Steampacket for my husband and myself.
The dining area is not at all lavish. Not for an intimate dinner. Just a casual friendly pub.

I work in the area, and have tried many pubs around town. The Steampacket is great place to get a nice cold beer, and cheap pub meal. Cheap food.
A must try if you are in the area. The staff are fun and friendly. :)
