A good one for a cheap beer and chat with the lads. Fridays in particular can be fun when the party pies and sausage roll platters come out, not mention BBQs over the summer. Did we mention the meat raffle?
Outdoor Area / Beer Garden
A white picket-fenced garden awaits out the front.

This RSL is a Gem. The members never mind a chat and the staff put in an effort to make first timers feel comfortable. The beautiful old builidng hosts a good sized bar with heaps of room to sit down, have a drink and maybe watch some sport on the big TV.
There is a patio with tables and benches which looks over the intersection, so on a sunny day when the umbrellas are out it's a pretty good place to be.
The Guinness on tap is as good as it gets and the 20 cent pool table makes it hard to beat!
There isn't a Bistro which is a shame, but it is a good place to meet before or after a meal... being walking distance from High St and Kew Junction. Steamed South Melbourne Dimmys fill the void on a Thursday though!
To sum it up... its like a country pub in the city.
