Since 1865, The Republic has stood firm on the corner of Pitt and Bridge Streets in the CBD. As the city has grown, so too has the pub, and it now spreads over four levels including its crowning glory Taylor’s Rooftop.
At street level is the Republic Bar which is a favourite after work for decompressing with a cold ale and streaming sports. Head up to the dining room for a delicious meal, then up again to the Social Lounge for cocktails or a few more ales or wines. Then the grand rooftop, an open-air oasis for late night shenanigans or indeed afternoon sippers or even sunset sav blancs - if you can escape the lower floors before evening.
Internationally acclaimed DJs play on Taylor’s Rooftop which is brilliant for dancing and late night fun.
Check out the events and weekly food and drink specials.
