Partystar Review
Easy going Irish pub with a large assortment of beer and plenty of patrons enjoying their beer to acoustic acts performed on a small stage. Being independent from the more typical inner-city chain pubs, the feel is very relaxed here. The closest establishment to the train station and a good venue to start or end up at.
Outdoor Area / Beer Garden
A tiny area along the front allows a beer on the pavement.

The "Blarney" is a great place to sit and have a pint, with the place divided into the "public" bar and "lounge" area; both are good fun. Quality beers on tap as well as "Bundy and Coke" on tap, which has become a firm favourite. Terrific big meals at this place too, and it's situated right in the heart of the Yarraville shopping village. My fave pub "to be sure!".

The Blarney Stone is one of those pubs that have sprouted up around Melbourne that, like most Australians, claim some Irish heritage. However there is little in common here with your average drinking establishment in Belfast, Cork or Dublin - apart from the Bulmers, Harp, Guinness and Kilkenny which all come on tap.
It is a fine place for a beer, though.
There are leprechauns, shamrocks and harps all over the place here - however after a few pints of the good stuff you won't mind the decor and you will be dancing along to one of the regular folk bands which play here on most nights of the week.
If you need to get some food into your stomach after your Guinness-induced dancing performance, the Blarney Stone serves pretty good pub grub. However you should order in the slightly more working class front bar - your dinner will be about half the price (and you get to watch the footy on the big screen, too!).
It's a good place if you are looking for a pint of something slightly more Irish than your typical Aussie pub.
