Partystar Review
Many locals remember the weird, triangular corner building as a post office, before it turned its hand to catering in the mid nineties and then became the much-loved Pinnacle. Lots of relaxing couches, tables with names instead of numbers and interesting op shop/antique decoration invited our attention, and we found it hard to leave.
In winter settle into the indoor room with plush furnishings and blood red drapes, and if you don't mind the fresh air enjoy what the quirky beer garden has to offer.
Outdoor Area / Beer Garden
'Twas a sunny Sunday afternoon when we stumbled across it, having rejected the Parkview Hotel over the road in Scotchmer Street because it had no beer garden. But the Pinnacle did - and with ecclectic decorations (like umbrellas hanging from the shed roof), couches, an outdoor dunny, lots of foliage and an undercover pool table, what a garden it was!

I live in North Carlton, but I've always had a soft spot for North Fitzroy when it comes to food and entertainment. I particularly love the Pinnacle because of it's relaxed atmosphere, great menu and friendly staff. The old building and nearby bear gardens are a special feature. Having the Park View Hotel close by is another plus.
Unlike many other restaurants and bars in Fitzroy North the little precinct around the Pinnacle is convenient for car parking as nearby Taplin Street offers unrestricted car park in some parts and long parking hours in other parts.

Had dinner here last night - cracking meal. Was bitterly cold outside and as soon you walk in you know it's a perfect place for such an evening - cosy - and a relaxed, friendly vibe with a diverse crowd. Despite the cold, we sat in the beer garden - which was well heated by ample heat lamps. Only had a few heads (15 or so) in the beer garden but we were treated to a SMILING DJ playing RECORDS - a thoroughly electic and enjoyable mix for a Wednesday evening. Food - was eating with one other and we decided on 4 share plates - the meatballs, the chicken strips, the beef strips (?) and the Mezze plate. At around $9 per dish, we were spoilt in terms of size and quality each. Moved in for a game of (poorly played) pool (Free on Wed) and a final pint of Mountain Goat... Not a heap else to say, other than the Pinnacle has a fine selection of Stable Tables if you enjoy eating with a challenge.
