Partystar Review
With live music as the drawcard, two things are assured: expect things to be busy, and expect things to be noisy. It all takes place in a relatively cosy environment though, with a family feel. The crowd's relatively eclectic: young, old, blue collar, white collar.
Live Music Venue
Expect live music most nights.

Second Opinion
When this was built as the Albert Hotel in 1888, this part of Brunswick was sparsely populated but a land boom was on its way. As the Lomond Hotel (renamed in the 1930s) it has maintained a stronghold in the community as a great local and a beacon of inclusiveness, fun and live music.

The bar and music area is old but functional, and has alot of character.,rare in brunswick now.A little too warm with a crowd on a summer night ,but the music sounds good.I saw tracy miller and band.
The bistro is renovated, but you need to order the right thing. The wholegrain mustard on the boiled potato was a extreme taste I thought, especially when it wasn,t mentioned on the menu.
Not a young crowd generally, but pleasant atmosphere.

No dining reviews, OK, but you should know that patrons can turn up for a superb Sunday afternoon of music, then get a bit peckish, and have the option of a cheaper bar meal, or walk into the dining room restaurant and expect excellent food (a bit creative), linen table cloths and napkins and excellent service.

The Lomond is perfectly located. Situated opposite 3RRR, the potential for bumping into a musician or 3 is high! The pub enjoys an eclectic mix of patrons and you really feel comfortable whether you're a young hip Brunswick thing or a more experienced patron of life. You'll see brickies next to trendies next to beardies. There really is no sense of dress-code or exclusivity.
The music there is absolutely first class, and the food is pretty good too - haven't eaten in the bistro yet, but the pub meals are reasonably priced and sized.

An unpretentious friendly pub with live music (blues and country) and very good food in the restaurant area as well as good sized counter meals at the bar. Slightly older (30+) crowd. I've been to the Lomond many times during the last ten years and have enjoyed myself every time. NB. If you have kids, the soft drinks are free!
