A 2018 facelift brought this crusty, old-school member of the Melbourne pub fraternity, well into the here and now.

There are loads of beer taps (with tap takeovers from local brewers to watch out for), open mic nights, trivia, live tunes and more.

It's right across from the Queen Victoria Market and has fresh and delicious produce to prove it, (but none of the cheap tacky souvenirs).

There is onsite accommodation and a bottle shop, which we think are a perfect combo because who doesn't like a nice little something in a brown paper bag to sip while propped on your hotel bed scrolling the socials?

One of the first pubs I visited in Melbourne. Early opener, beer is always on good form and the tucker's excellent. Cosy pub full of character and characters just across the road from Vic Market. Perfect for a beer after shopping. Friendly bar staff, too.
